ApiCourier Licensing
Effective date: April 17, 2026. Last updated: April 17, 2026.
License Model Overview
ApiCourier uses a commercial subscription model with a perpetual fallback right for eligible versions, similar to the model used by JetBrains. This page summarizes the model in plain language.
This summary is informational and does not replace the full legal agreement. In case of conflict, the Terms of Service and your order terms control.
Free Tier
- Free to install and use. No subscription, no credit card, no time limit.
- Covers the desktop application and CLI for personal or internal business use.
- No artificial limits on workspaces, collections, environments, or requests.
- Free-tier rights continue indefinitely under the Terms of Service.
Subscription Tiers (Pro, Team, Enterprise)
- An active subscription unlocks paid-tier features and updates.
- Pro is licensed to a single named user. Team and Enterprise are priced per seat and licensed per named user within your organization.
- You may install the app on multiple devices used by the same licensed user.
- Sharing a single-user license across multiple users is not permitted.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Cancellation stops future renewals; current-period fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Perpetual Fallback License
If your paid subscription remains active for at least 12 consecutive months, you earn a perpetual fallback license for versions released up to your fallback cutoff date. Your cutoff date advances each additional month you remain subscribed.
After cancellation, you may continue using those eligible versions indefinitely on your machine. Access to newer versions, updates, and online services ends unless you reactivate a subscription.
What the perpetual fallback does not cover:
- Online services that require a live connection (billing portal, hosted mock gateway, Team shared infrastructure, real-time activity, SSO/SCIM, vault integrations, cloud features).
- Features labeled beta, preview, early access, insider, or experimental at the time they were delivered.
- Features released after your fallback cutoff date.
- Support and updates, which require an active subscription.
If your subscription is terminated for a violation of the Terms, the perpetual fallback license does not apply and all paid-tier rights end immediately. See the Terms of Service for the full text.
Insider Program
Insider participants who remain in good standing through v1.0 general availability will receive 12 months of Pro at v1.0 launch at no additional cost. Insider builds are pre-release software provided "as is" and are not covered by the perpetual fallback license. Full terms are in the Terms of Service.
